eDonkey on Mac OS X

Has anyone out there successfully installed edonkey on OS X? If so, how? I spent way too much time trying to get it to work and failing.

Oh Lazyweb, I invoke thee!

  1. Which version of eDonkey are you trying to install? Most of the recent versions of mldonkey (not edonkey) are pretty easy to set up.

One thing, though, are you behind a firewall/home router of any sort? You have to open up the right ports…

  2. I’m not behind a firewall. I gave up on the lot. Also, as I understand it, mldonkey is just the gui wrapper on the edonkey demon.
